My First PC (X58)

This is an i7 X58 system that is currently running as my main computer. I got it from an auction in early 2020 that came with a TV and stand for cheap, back when I was just learning about building PCs. As my first real desktop PC, this isn’t all that bad; I overclocked the i7 920 to 4.1GHz, added 20GB of DDR3 total all running at 1600MHz + tight timings, and slapped in an SSD and some hard drives. I also bought some cheap led fans and coolers to compliment a blue color theme, and got a blue Apex M400 keyboard to replace a cheap mesh one. There actually used to be a GTX 470 inside, but even as an amateur in early 2020 I knew that needed an upgrade; within a decent budget. I had opted for an XFX RX 480, somewhere around $150≈ back when the GPU prices were normal. (Crazy nowadays, right?)

A lot of those upgrades happened before the PS5 was announced, since my rig was a lot faster than a PS4. I managed to snag a digital at MSRP this Christmas because my entire game library is with Sony, and with my friends are there too. As much as I’d love to invest my time and skills into PC gaming; actually using 1st gen i7’s are not that fun in 2021. So right now I play games on PS5, and both my rig and the Z210 are mining Ethereum. At about $5-6 a day total, it’s a pretty decent way of slipping crypto into my pockets to help get a new build I'm looking forward to buying by this year.

I know this system is pretty old, but it gets by with daily tasks, occasional gaming and is decent overall. I felt good about making the most use out of it, especially since I don’t have the budget yet for a new Ryzen SFF PC.
I have a link here for the parts I’m looking at for it, and here's a more accurate part link for my rig since the parts are old and scrambled compatibility wise; If anyone is interested in checking those out.
