Thanks to a VAT Discount event at a local electronics dealer I was able to start on my Graphics & Display updates a bit earlier.
I picked up:
- ASUS Advanced Dual Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080
- LG 27UK850
I did not have a lot of time to test performance, but here a before and after 3DMark TimeSpy run:
Even with the RTX 2080 Super coming out soon I have to say I am very happy about the pick-up and the backplate of the card matches the setup nicely.
The next and final update will be switching the Ryzen 1700X with a Ryzen 3000 model, better RGB RAM and NVMe SSDs. So stay tuned!
Thanks to a deal at a electronics dealer I got my hands on ASUS Advanced Dual Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080.
It comes in realy nice packaging, even if it is not a Strix card.
But the packaging is not trivial ;-)
Here you can see all the package contents. The card is still in its protective plastic at this point.
Then the new RTX 2080 needs a nice Display to push the stream of pixels to, since I am also going into more Photo and Video editing using my MacBook Pro I picked up a LG 27UK850 4K IPS Display.
My current setup, my build on the left and the Monitor is mounted on a Ergotron LX-Arm.
And here is a close-up of the updated build with the RTX 2080 installed. I did not have perfect lighting conditions therefore some parts of the image blurry. For the final update I'll create some better shots.
