Introduction
Oreo, formerly known as Sunway, is an ATX, standard form factor computer based on the Intel Z790 chipset and represents the best in extreme gaming performance and accelerated content creation. It was designed and built on the ASUS ROG Z790 Maximus Apex motherboard for its supreme PCB quality, power design, memory signal integrity and high memory overclocking potential. It is powered by a hybrid 24-core, 32-thread Intel Core i9-13900KS with all-core P-core overclock of 6.2GHz, an all-core E-core overclock of 4.5GHz and a ring ratio of 50. It is paired with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founders Edition with an overclock of 3.0GHz and features 48GB of Corsair Dominator Titanium - First Edition 256 of 500 DDR5 memory tightened and overclocked to 8200MHz C34 @1.64v (34-50-16-46-36).
Storage
For the operating system, it uses a single Western Digital Black SN850 512GB NVMe SSD operating at 7GB/sec and dual Western Digital Black SN850X 4TB NVMe SSDs that operate at 7.3GB/sec, creating a total of 8TB of storage for games and creative work.
Airflow
Airflow is handled by a hybrid array of 15 individually controlled fans. Intake is provided by 9 Noctua Chromax NF-A12x25 120mm fans and an additional 6 Noctua Chromax NF-S12A 120mm fans for exhaust. This setup requires the use of two Corsair Commander Core XTs for precise individual fan curve control, pump control and liquid temperature monitoring as well as full RGB control throughout the computer case.
Responsive fan and pump control is critical when it comes to regulating the amount of heat moved away from the CPU block. Fluid flow is driven by a 330mL Corsair iCUE Link XD5 RGB ELITE LCD D5 pump. It is dynamically controlled by one of the dual Corsair Commander Core XT devices based on both liquid and CPU core temperature with a maximum of speed of 4800RPM at 35c liquid or 85c core.
The top 360mm x 55mm radiator is set to intake cold air directly from outside of the case and is setup in a 6-fan push-pull configuration while bottom 360mm x 35mm radiator is only setup in a 3-fan push configuration, up through the radiator and into the GPU. After exiting through the back and top of the GPU, the air then meets in the middle of the case and is then exhausted out of either the back of the case or the side of the case. All exhaust fans are exclusively controlled by the GPU and idle at 0 RPM when the GPU is below 50c. The exhaust fans will only reach their max RPM should the GPU reach 70c. With this dual fan controller configuration, the system can remain exceptionally silent at idle, during moderate productivity use and during light gaming workload.
Conclusion
Oreo aims to be a quiet, efficient and no-compromise 24-core, workstation and 4K 165Hz gaming machine designed to be expanded upon indefinitely.
