Color Splash (the OG)
I originally build Color Splash mainly for Video Editing and Gaming.
These days it remains as a rig for me to play with VR hardware that requires an older Nvidia GPU to function properly (mainly the StarVR One, but also Soon™ the Varjo Aero). The Hardware listed is only the PC now. If you want to see the rest of my setup, checkout my Color Splash v2 Build.
Update (2019-10-27):
I recently decided that the 24" Dell Monitor I had for gaming wasn't big enough and so I decided to replace it with an Ultra-Wide. Ultimately I decided on the LG 34GK950G, as it had a nice not very "gamery" look to it, but still featured for me necessary features like G-Sync and 1440 Pixel in height resolution.
Since I've posted my build here, I also had replaced my G403 with the G703 Lightspeed, because the mouse-wheel on the G403 died :(
Update (2020-02-15):
Removed any mentioning of the Samsung 860 Evo, as it moved semi-permanently into my old Rig as a Server Driver
Update (2020-08-20):
I swapped out the case, PSU and AIO to improve thermals
Update (2020-11-04):
I upgraded from my 1080Ti to an RTX 3090 FE
Update (2021-04-17):
I swapped out the CPU for a Ryzen 9 5900X and changed the motherboard to support the CPU. I also added some additional fans to create a positive Air pressure in the system.
Update (2025-01-25):
I have built a new system to replace this one. For now 3090 FE remains in my active system, but will return to this one once I upgrade the GPU.
Update (2025-05-10):
The 3090 FE is now back in the OG Color Splash.
