Black & White define this build. More by accident than by design, really.

Out with the old, in with the new.

As my very creative title suggest, this is the first build I've ever made from scratch. After gathering experience upgrading certain parts of my old low-budget pre-built, I've finally felt confident enough - both ability-wise and financially - to finally build a system from scratch.
The focus of my build was, as to be expected for a student, affordability. Thusly, my focus was entirely on performance, with no thougts of the build's looks. I'm still happy with how it turned out. By accident, my build now has a clear Black & White design that's supported by all components, from mainboard to soundcard. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Paired with the RGB rainbow of my graphics card, the aesthetics of this build are surprisingly solid.
A couple of crude benchmarks for the curious: - Battlefield 5 - 1440p, High-Ultra (no RT), ~90fps - Metro: Exodus - Ultra (No RT), ~90fps - that's it, cuz I'm an indie nerd who spends little time playing AAA titles
