Better photos, this one is just the illumination from the case.
Nightime, and a bit farther out.
A total picture of the "battlestation". The monitors make the computer seem a bit small.
A picture of the completed loop before getting it filled and lit up.
A few interesting bends to keep everything parallel across the face of the motherboard.
Starlight
So, for the challenge: large E-ATX motherboard (Zenith Extreme Alpha) + Phanteks Glacier R220 + everything installed into a Phanteks Evolv X. Basically, build something that looks professional to house everything, that is quiet, and that will look good no matter what RGB LED effect pattern is running.
THEME
The theme of this one is hard to describe. The CableMod cables are black paracord because I wanted them to fade into the background of the build. The coolant is clear because I also didn't want it to really stand out (Mayhems X1 Clear). I wanted the light to shine brightest at the top from the Phanteks Halo Lux brackets on the top of the case and then fade into shadows at the bottom.
Also, that's why almost all of the tubing is above the GPUs: the chrome fittings work really well with the lighting scheme. This goes the same with the nickel-plated backplates on the GPUs and the full nickel EKWB sTR4 Velocity block.
ISSUES
I hadn't seen many builds rocking the R220 in a full out custom build, and if you're reading this: just don't. While it's pretty, there are some significant drawbacks. The way that coolant is cycled through the R220 means that the coolant in the top of the reservoir will be stagnant, so caveat emptor on that purchase.
The largest motherboard that you could install into this case would be the ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha. Go no larger than this unless you have a love of cutting the right hand part of the motherboard tray and removing the plastic annoying slide-y covers.
