Three ProlimaTech slim-profile fans cool the Asrock motherboard and the Intel 8700K CPU. The shift X cabinet was modified to accept a cooling fan on the top left side of the cabinet (normally where a HHD/SSD is placed).
The rig has six Samsung 840 1TB SSDs for storage of large production (feature films) video and music files. This side of the Shift X cabinet was modified (with the help of Phanteks) to accommodate the drives.
The standard position for two more Samsung 840 SSDs completes the array of six drives.
The Phanteks 140mm fan pulls cool air into the cabinet and pushes it to the top where it is exhausted.
The GPU is mounted onto a modified mounting bracket that has a much cleaner appearance (no bracket exposed on the left side of the GPU).
The rig incorporates a be quiet 600W SFX PSU and a stainless steel sleeved Addicted PC RGB power cable with chrome and carbon fiber connectors.
ProlimaTech 120mm slim-profile cooling fan and low profile Noctua rad cool the CPU.
Nickel heat sink cooling the Samsung 960 Pro.
A closer look at the "clean" GPU mounting bracket. Wait, you can't see what I am talking about ... perfect!
I am a film music composer and below are two be quite Dark Base 700 networked Music Production rigs and my Phanteks Shift X Multi-Media Build. The Shift X is used with Adobe Premier to render a video and custom composed music together to send to the director for review. (http:\\www.imdb.me/rkimshultz)
Just for fun, I am including the rest of my composing rig! Thanks for taking a look at my entry!!
Multi-Media Shift X
This Windows 10 rig is based on the Phanteks Shift X Case (modified). It has two ProlimaTech PRO-USV14 Ultra Sleek Vortex Fans cooling the mobo; the fan on the left side of the mobo is pushing cool air across the Asrock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard and the fan on the right side is pulling and exhausting the hot air. There is also a Phanteks 140mm fan and Lux Halo pushing cool air into the cabinet from the bottom.
The CPU is an Intel 8700K overclocked to 4.1GHz. The CPU cooling is a Noctua NH-L9x65 radiator with a ProlimaTech Ultra Sleek Vortex 12 slim 15mm fan and Phanteks Halo. The mobo has a Samsung 512gb 960 Pro boot drive and 32gb of Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000MHz memory.
The rig is powered by a be quiet BN215 PS and has six 1TB Samsung 840 SSDs for storage. The Nvidia Founders Edition 1060 GPU is mounted on a modified mounting bracket that provides a much cleaner appearance than the standard bracket. The 1060 performs extremely well rendering in Adobe Premier and working with the Adobe Photoshop application.
I wanted to go without AIO cooling in an effort to showcase the six Samsung 840 SSDs. I accomplished the look I wanted and I am "Extremely Happy" with the performance of this "Air Cooled" build!!
