Lian Li Vision Compact - Brotherhood of Steel theme
Recent build for a friend who was looking to upgrade his gaming setup. He's a big Fallout fan, so I did kind of a Brotherhood of Steel theme, which worked well with the hardware. We went with the Vision Compact - it's a great case with a couple of limitations. First (and not an issue in this build), the design requires the AIO to be passed through an opening in the case. For AIOs with really large pump/display modules this may not fit.
Second, the case is more narrow than I expected. The Vanguard is a really wide card, and while it does fit, this led to a pretty sharp bend in the 12V-2x6 cable. I initially tried an EZDIY 90 degree downward adapter, but when inserted the fan shroud blocked the cable. Also, with the Carbon motherboard having such a low PCIe slot there's not much room between the GPU and bottom fans.
I ended up going with the Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro, and going up over the top of the card. I figure if you have to use an adapter, go with a brand you trust; plus its monitoring functions are pretty great. One of its temp probes is inserted right where the plug housing inserts through the PCB. Some cable combs and training made the power cable a little more presentable.
I made the sleeved cables for the PSU (other than the 12V-2x6; I used the stock cable for this). In this particular case I don't think the port orientation of the Edge PSU was that helpful, although in certain cases it's probably great. One criticism I have is that the USB hub, a welcome feature, almost blocks some of the plugs. They're still accessible, just makes it a little awkward.
