ROG Battlestation

Designed and created with the idea to combine a 34"curved monitor, keyboard, speakers and two different high-end platforms (Intel vs AMD)
all integrated in one chassis... I guess the name "Battlestation" gave it a new perspective. Seen so many 'desk' builds over the past years I was thinking it can be done different... different isn't always embarrassed very well as most people just follow the trends.... well not for me I try to be different most of the times. One of the main purposes of the build was to show the difference between Intel and AMD in real time as the battle between the two was getting intenser at that moment. The two platforms could be used simultaneously on one big monitor and controlled by one mouse and keyboard with the Microsoft tool "border less mouse" so you could start a game or benchmark almost at the same time on the two platforms and see it in split screen on one monitor.
That said I started to measure, measure and measure... until I got my design and drawings ready to start the production.
Chassis laser-cut out of 4mm thick aluminium, CNC folding and milling, TIG welding, powder coating, laser engraving, 3D printing, Raspberry Pi coding etc... just to mention some of the techniques involved into this project.
After the bare chassis was ready and all the acrylic parts where engraved and cut it was time to put in the hardware and water cooling parts.
I went for two separate loops with the option to combine them if needed... yess combine them! How and why? Well in the middle of the ROG Battlestation there is a Asus Tinkerboard S (2* faster than a Raspberry Pi 2) connected to a 7"touchscreen where in future progress I can control the Aura light, servo motors and a waterloop valves. Not everything is programmed yet but this is defenetly on the planning ones I have a fixed mod cave place for the Battlestation.
Ones the hardware was in place Intel X299 i9-extreme/ 1080GTX and AMD X399 Treadripper/ Radeon 580RX platforms and the waterloop was almost completed i designed two reservoirs with integrated pump mountings and ROG logo's, these where milled by a good friend of mine that is a specialist in milling these kinda distro plates/ reservoirs... yess Alex Banks Emoji
Ones the loop's where finnished it was time to connnect all the hardware... the cables where ofcource provided by cablemod with custom length and pro cablecombs. Bleu/silver for the Intel side and red/silver for the AMD side. The Two platforms are powered by two Asus Thor 1200W PSU's that are integrated in the middle compartiment where you also can find the 3D printed 34"monitor stand and ROG Flare gaming keyboard and two Bluetooth speakers. All the PSU's (4 in total) are connected to one center point so the entire Battlestation uses only one power cord in the back also provided by cablemod! The 34"curved monitor was provided by Asus like all the hardware I used in this build.
The ROG Battlestation was displayed at several big shows and events like Gamescom Germany etc... It probably to crazy for most people but just to see the peoples faces on events makes this build all worthy Emoji
