[CUSTOM CASE]BattleBox 1.0 | SFF GAMING RIG
After putting together some PCs for friends and myself I wanted to try something diffrent.
A custom gaming PC, as small as possible without making to many compromises in performance
So, I started working.
I planned out the layout using CAD. I modeled every component, beginning with the mainboard, towards the CPU and RAM and finally the CPU cooler, GPU and the fans.
Until this point I've probably already been like 30 hours into this projekt.
But that was the easy part.
The next step was to figure out how to do the case around this chunk of components.
I didn't want to waste to much time into modeling the whole case just did it roughly to visulize what I would be going to build.
So then, I bought some sheet aluminium, took some basic tools and started cutting and banding. The banding was quiet easy since I got some rather flimsy 1 milimeter sheet aluminium. On the other hand it was very difficult to cut out all the ventilation holes with out accidentally bending and damaging the case.
After about a week or two of working at this project besides my college, the case was finally ready for the paintjob.
The initial plan was to do a smooth looking mat black design with orange accents. BUT.....
A friend and I bought some spray paint, sanded everything down and started painting.
First we sprayed everything with primer. Than we wanted to do one coat of orange, but thats were the problems began.
The paint was just lumpy and couldent be sprayed evenly.
That's when I realized my plan wouldn't work out but we decided to continue an see what happens.
So... see for yourself
