Ultra compact shoebox sized build - goal here was to fit as much power in a small aesthetically pleasing case.
12900K - SP 90. Huge challenge thermally. Ended up with an undervolt setting that matches/slightly exceeds stock performance. 5.1/3.9 @ 1.22 volts LLC4(Asus, ~1.19 volts under load). Sustained boost clocks take a hit in synthetics due to thermal throttling, but gaming can sustain 5.1 at 40-60C depending on game.
3090FE - The EK Vector FE block keeps the GPU pretty cool, topping out at 72C core/70C memory junction in 3DMARK. Replaced the thermal pads with Thermalright 1.5mm pads. Temperatures in gaming tends to be in the 50-60C range.
Radiators and fans - Went with 2 240m NexXxoS ST30 Alphacools. One crossflow at the bottom and a standard one at the top due to port location and space constraints. For the fans, I went with 4 Noctua A12x25 for the best CFM/dBA that would fit in the case. I tend to run the fans at a barely audible level. The 30mm Alphacools and 30mm Phanteks T30 would not have cleared the Louqe tophats since they have less than 60mm of space.
Cats - Domestic shorthair brothers. 8 months old. Found and rescued from a taped up shoebox on the side of the road. Loves sitting on the top of PC cases and laptops where it gets warm. Follow them on Instagram
