Originally built in 2010 as a Hackentosh based around a Gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r v2.0 motherboard, Intel Core i7 930 CPU and a Diamond ATI 5770 1GB. It had been running until 2015 when I built a new Hackentosh and it sat idle ever since. Revive was taken out of retirement in Dec 2018 to see how far I can take it to upgrade. I took the guts out of a tacky (by today's standards) Cooler Master CM610 and adopted the internals to an NZXT H500 and installed a few ebay upgrades such as an Intel Xeon x5690 (79.99) happily chugging along at 4.27GHz and an XFX RX580 8GB (139.99).
Today its a dual boot macOS Mojave and Windows 10. Previously it was only macOS el Capitain. In Windows 10 its a gaming PC in macOS its a productivity machine.
One poor design feature of the NZXT case other than aesthetics and color is the poor airflow. The system is starved of fresh clean air when gaming. The GPU pumps so much heat into the case, I often have to remove the glass side plate.
