I built this after being idle for 12 yrs or so. My last one was working just fine until I went and bought the 3080..LOL
So I went from a i7-975E and a 1080 to this beast.
Have to admit, I was nervous but it all came back like riding a bicycle.
Although the technology has become so far advanced
( had such a hard time figuring out a MB) which had me gasping for breath...
the build went very smoothly.
Took me about 8 hrs. Cable management is a big "must" and I did very well on that
( pats himself on the back).
I would love one day to jump into the fast lane with the custom loop. Maybe. Don't know if I want to fuss with all that but if I ever do, my MB is hooked up for it.
Temps are really great though. I don't run the chip at max(5.3Ghz). No need. So my temps range from a low 40c to a high 68c
( tops!) more around 60c-65c during my gaming. That's at 5.1 Ghz. I'm cool with that speed. My last chip maxed out at 3.8/4.0Ghz.
My games don't require a high oc. At least the one I play. More GPU dependent and the 3080 does that extremely well.
If you game, I highly recommend this one;
Hunt Showdown.
Anyways, not to shabby for the 60+ club. Thanks for welcoming me to the club!
