Hephaestus Apex
AD:
This case is intended to look like a power core from an alien spacecraft that has been extracted and modified to interface with human technology. It "powers" a fully enclosed multifunctional space/flight/driving/mech/gaming station named "Night Sky."
I bought the Azza Overdrive case in late 2023. I bought the GPU and its water block in March 2025. I bought everything else in 2024.
I began the build in late July 2024 but had to stop work in September due to a death in the family. One thing led to another, and I didn't get back to the work until July 2026, but I finally finished it!
This was my first experience with ARGB lighting, custom cooling loops, vinyl wrapping, Aida64 senor panels, extensive case modifications, and video making/editing. I learned A LOT while making the modifications and videos.
Back in 2024 I didn't realize how much Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West had influenced and inspired my primary decisions regarding case esthetics, but in 2026 (after not looking at the parts or thinking about the build for so long) I realized how much my choices had been influenced by the robot animals in the the Horizon games. The case's name is my way of acknowledging the games' influence on the project.
I also like the idea that my "pixel smith" is named after the blacksmith of the Greek gods, since the PC forges the worlds in which I explore, build, fight, and play.
There's a 17 minute video with close-up shots and assembly photos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcwu8fnWrF8
