A friend approached me with thermal issues on his PC. He was running a 3700X with a stock cooler inside an airflow-challenged NZXT H500 alongside a power hungry RTX 2080 Super. There was only 1 intake up top and 1 exhaust in the rear with no fans up front. The previous builder also DIDNT BOTHER to turn on PBO or EVEN XMP/DOCP in the BIOS. The worst offense was using only 1 PCIE cable for the 2080 Super.
Working on a budget, I recommended the airflow-focused Lian Li 215X alongside a 240mm Galahad AIO, paired with a set of 3 Lian Li ST120 fans to feed more air to his 2080S.
Result: CPU temps lower by 25C (from 85C) / GPU Temps lower by 12C (from 82C) . A worthy upgrade indeed.
