So my prior rig was in dire need of rebuilding, so I started researching what I wanted in 2016 during the Z170 era. Time went on, new chipsets came, new GPU's hit, and I Was still in the planning phases. Then in Dec 2017 I was finally able to start pulling the trigger on some things. Upgraded my case, CPU Cooler, got some custom cables...and then my GPU died. Worst. Time. EVER! Right during the GPU chortage of 2017-2018 (damn miners! lol)
Then in July 2018 I was able to go an upgrade my major compoonents. Went Ryzen this time...2700X, 16 GB DDR4, and found a deal on a 1070 Ti, which for a lot of the games I run is still overkill for. I had planned on going SLI and doing a custom loop, but I think I Will kep what I have. Will soon be upgrading anyway to a Lian Li PC011-Dynamic as there is an integrated water manifold for it by Barrow that I plan on using.
