Classical in the front, Heavy Metal in the back
This build is a full custom loop built inside (and outside) of a SONY ICF-9740W, originally produced in 1980. I bought the radio in non-working condition, and completely gutted the interior. This build features a "sandwich" layout, with the motherboard and gpu mounted back to back on a removable motherboard tray. The loop takes advantage of quick disconnect fittings allowing all the major components to be removed with the loop filled. The loop is cooled by a 240mm radiator with a push/pull configuration and a 120mm radiator with an undersized 92mm fan for clearance purposes.
My inspiration for this build was a love for vintage electronics and sleeper pcs altogether. Although, I would consider this build more "hotrod" than true sleeper. I love the industrial look of the exposed radiator and fittings in the rear. My original intention was to build a cpu only, sleeper htpc. However, things escalated along the way and I ended up with this monstrosity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
