Nothing special about the aesthetics, hence the name "Blackbox"; everything I need for school and gaming is in this unassuming black metal case.
Despite the interior not being as clean as I'd like I didn't want to get too deep into custom cables etc until I workout out a long-term plan. I plan to replace the CPU + Chipset coolers with a custom watercooling monoblock that I will hopefully have made this summer.
The cable-management isn't really that wonderful and the PSU extension cable was frustrating to route. Still, I think a majority of things are run cleanly so I'm happy about it!
Blackbox
This is my first SFF build where I've used a proper SFF case; my last PC was an mITX build in a mid-tower ATX case that was pretty great but I just don't like the wasted space. I understand now that it is helpful to have the extra airflow for cooling. Still, it won't deter me from pursuing a low unused-volume case with great cooling!
I'm generally a very pragmatic person so I didn't put a tonne of effort into coordinating the aesthetics for this build, plus I didn't want to wait for black/silver RAM to come in-stock just so things would match. I think overall the aesthetic is pleasing though I would like to use this build as a learning opportunity for future ones.
My plans moving forward with this build are to engage in what most would consider the needlessly difficult task of watercooling the Lian-Li TU150. Sure, there are practically zero good places to put a decent sized radiator without heavily modifying the case, but I'm skill-lessly hopeful that I can pull of something that is capable of keeping my GPU below 75C and fan noise to a minimum. I might be barking up the wrong tree but it's worth a shot!
