Chromed heatsinks of Z790i edge w/ iceman DD block and iceman ram block
Heatkiller heavy backplate
Heatkiller 4090 FE block
Silver Calypso
This rig was built in February 2023, and I had long forgotten to post it here. Better late than never. I set out to build this as a no compromise system; maximum performance and cooling in mind. I have also gotten tired of small cases, but I still wanted to utilize a mITX board as I still had one lying around.
The Case - Yuelbeast Calypso
I have never really explored open air chassis before. When Yuelbeast announced a smaller version of their mighty Atlas, it was a sign for me to grab it. With a relatively compact footprint, it can fit four radiators; 2x 240 rads and 2x 360 rads. It's open nature also allowed me to be more conscious of my tube and cable routing too, as there is nowhere to hide it.
CPU
For the CPU I stuck with the 13900K that I already had, as it has a good bin. It's been overclocked to 6ghz pcore, 4.6ghz ecore and 5ghz ring, so it's as fast as a 14900KS in game. It's been delidded and being cooled by the Iceman direct die block.
Motherboard, RAM, SSD
The MSI Z790i Edge is the board of choice. Its 1DPC nature allows the 16*2 Hynix green sticks to be overclocked to run 8000c34 comfortably. This board allows for triple M.2, so it has been populated with 3x 4TB SN850X. The RAM is blocked with iceman DDR5 1DPC block, and the board's heatsinks have been chrome plated to match the silver aesthetic of the iceman blocks.
GPU
The 4090 FE was chosen as my GPU choice as I wanted it to be blocked by Heatkiller, who makes some of the best GPU blocks around. Its GPU core has been upgraded with the ultra core block as well.
PSU
To simplify 12vhpwr compatibility, I went with the Asus Loki SFX-L 1000w Platinum. It has been absolutely quiet and realiable.
Cooling
This rig is being cooled by 2x 240L radiators, 2x 360S radiators and a MO-RA 420, all by Heatkiller. 10x Phanteks T30 fans cool the smaller radiators while 4x Noctua A20 cool the MO-RA. I understand this is overkill amount of cooling, but since i already had the MO-RA lying around, I might as well use it. As this loop is quite restrictive with its many radiators and blocks, I went with a total of 3 D5 pumps to circulate the system; 2x D5 pumps in the Calypso with the Iceman dual D5 top, and a Aquacomputer D5 Next on the Heatkiller tube that is attached to the MO-RA. There are other Aquacomputer products too; an Octo controller for the fans, and a Next Flow to check coolant temps and flowrate. Fittings are EK Torque.
