Astrid is a work of beauty that I had built around Thanksgiving of 2018, and also my first attempt at liquid cooling. She started out innocently enough, with me browsing and picking out parts as a way of taking my mind off a rough breakup from earlier in the year. Yet she ended up being a huge transformation as I sank quite a bit of money into not only buying all of her parts on an impulse, but also renovating my office space entirely.
Astrid is rocking an i7-8700k installed into an Asus prime z370-A motherboard, kitted with 16 gigs of Dominator Platinum, and not to mention an RTX 2080 to drive the ultrawide beast of a display that currently shares the desk with her. Both the CPU and GPU are cooled in the same loop using EK waterblocks. All Solid State inside, with a 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO. Lots of RGB, in the waterblock and with strips along the top of her interior as well as down the backside of the reservoir installation bracket. Artorias form Dark Souls makes his home atop her chassis as well, just to top things off.
White cablemod cables are on the way to finish her off, along with a new power supply (Thanks to coil whine...)
