Hey guys! This build was super fun to create.. I unleashed my inner artist on this one! Using the C700P, I wanted to create something unique and organic in its presentation of the components within. A second smoked tempered glass side panel was ordered so both sides of the case would be see-through, and the system components could be seen even if the doors are closed. To give the design an organic feel, I created a kind of chrome webbing to support the motherboard and GPU, and suspended them in the center of the case making it look as if they were caught in the web. Four custom light boxes surround the component cluster on all sides.
Continuing the natural look of the webbing in other areas, I designed the top grill and fan grills within the light panels with this pattern. For the back panel, I wanted to make a special art wall, so I rebuilt the entire thing with random-shaped 'ice cubes' which were cast in clear resin and back-lit. All IO ports were re-located to the bottom under the art wall using panel mount plugs for the power supply, HDMI, USB, and network ports.
For the front panel, a special window was made in the bezel to display Cooler Master's liquid cooling reservoir, and a custom lit Cooler Master logo ring was made to replace the original metal badging. Various parts such as the front bezel, top and bottom rails, and center webbing were plated in a black chrome to provide contrast with the painted white case and light panels. One unforeseen difficulty was making all the lighting systems match color-wise.. Using components with RGB lighting, along with led strips and fans, it was very challenging to achieve a consistent white lighting throughout, as each part had a different hue of white.
Finally to round out the system, I modded the Viewsonic 24" monitor to match the theme, adding matching rails to the top and bottom of the screen, and creating an underlit ice-cube cluster on the base surrounding the cut-out Achromodic name. The keyboard's wrist pad was modded as well with cut-out shapes and backlit with a usb led strip.
Cheers, and thanks for reading about my build!
