So yeah, GPU is back from RMA, I've played a few hours of DOOM, and a bit of No Man's Sky, and I've only heard 'normal' amounts of coil whine using the EK block and backplate. Though, I had zero noticeable coil whine when on air. I've read that removing the EK backplate can almost eliminate it, but I'm not sure I want to go that route... we'll see. But for now, I'm happy that I have a GPU that doesn't scream at me as I'm playing, or opening the start menu, or editing photos...
I also installed a sensor panel monitor, running AIDA64 Sensor Panel. I have some more tweaking to do on this, but it displays what I need for now.
To Do list:
- Custom length GPU and Motherboard cables (the cable mod cables are okay, but I'm addicted to MDPC-X... and I just like cables that fit the build)
- Change out the pump. The pump is louder than I expected, and I think it has to do with when I was filling the loop. I may have run the pump dry for a few seconds on accident. Let's just say family comes before computers, even if said family causes a broken pump

I still runs fine though, just loud. I know DDC's are louder than D5's by quite a bit, but I've heard, and even had quieter DDC's... and that was more than a decade ago... I would expect the 4.2 to be quieter than the Laing DDC I had that long ago.... this list item is getting long... I'll stop now...
- Continued cable management: I had to get rid of the TouchAqua RGB controller as it was causing issues, so now I have the Fans on one motherboard channel, and the blocks, res, and case RGB on the other channel. OH! And I'm running SignalRGB rather than Armoury Crate. Crate screwed with build stability to the point that I had to reformat and reinstall Windows. ASUS, get your crap together... some of us still build PCs... take some time away from your laptops and give us some attention... please...
- Memory... freakin' memory... I can't get lower than C18 even at 3200, and this is supposed to be C18 at 4000!!! I'm honestly new to have to tweak this much with memory... the last time I had to do this was with the Athlon XP, in an Abit motherboard... 20 miles, in 33 feet of snow, up hill, and there was a hurricane, too!
- Not priority, but the water temp sensor I'm using is only showing water at 27 to 29 C all the time, no matter what, which doesn't seem right... I'd like to correct this sometime, but I have fans set to static right now, and it cools just fine... but things that don't work as intended really bug me...
Okay, that was a lot of text, and I'm sorry... I suck at this... man I wish I could build for a living... just not enough interest in the land of corn and soy beans
The good side... hoping the other side will look just as good...
Yeah, I don't like those GPU cables either... and I need to install the GPU support bracket that came with the case...
FIRE!!!!
Raging Mari making sure my temps stay cool :)
