Dust filter, hidden USB and audio ports, drilled out for better cooling
Beigebox - Sleeper Build
I have a thing for retro computers and aesthetics while I also need the newest hardware for my work, so obviously I had to build myself my own custom sleeper pc.
After spending months looking for a suitable case, I came across this large, dull, durable all steel late 90's to mid 00's beige hunk with a dust filter and plenty of sound dampening material covering the insides. Only had to make very slight modifications to fit my new parts in.
To complete the look, I also found a matching optical drive and a floppy drive, bought the legendary IBM Model M keyboard to have it as my main keyboard and a Sony Trinitron CRT monitor (these things seem nearly impossible to find these days), thankfully it was sold close to where I live, topping it off with some shitty 90s speakers. Only thing missing is the era appropriate mouse and some stickers which I'm still hunting after.
Overall I'm happy with the results, it's basically my dream build. Gets plenty of (strange) looks from people while no one suspects it's able to run all the most modern games and software with ease.
Future plans: Some shitty beige mouse
More powerful GPU
More retro stickers
Floppy sata converter
