I acquired a GTX 1080 as in a trade for a previous build and found some local Samsung B-die for a good price, so this build ended up being a bit better than planned. The Samsung B-Die was pretty fun to work with, and I was able to easily get a respectable 3400 MHz out of the kit. CAS latency didn't seem to scale with voltage but I think that could just be the motherboard or the 1600's IMC holding it back a little bit.
This was my second attempt at custom PSU cable sleeving and I'm definitely getting better at it. Even just the 3 connectors I sleeved takes many hours, so its not for everyone (it also requires you to hold a lighter to your PSU cables which could make some people nervous).
I almost took this GPU for myself, but I think the Founders Edition blower looked too good paired with these green ring fans. I don't love how the fans look in the pictures though ( the green is pretty washed out ) and might re-shoot some pictures on a sunnier day.
The darkFlash DLM22 case is pretty nice. Its very similar to the DLM21 that I built with previously, but the front much more subtle without the low-poly facade. The matte black finish is also very nice and has a smoother texture than the white DLM21. The case has no issue the internals cool under simultaneous Kombustor 1080p and Prime95 small fft - my Kill A Watt meter maxes around 390W from the wall with this setup. A nice feature of both the DLM21 and DLM22 is that swinging open the tempered glass panel slightly can noticeably reduce CPU temps. This could probably be fairly practical if you need more cooling during gaming.
