White & Black Clean Build This build is quite minimalist, with no RGB at all to give a clean atheistic! It's basesd around the NZXT H500 which is a very clean and stylish case! In this build i have used an Intel Core i5 9600k from Intel's 9th gen lineup. I have overclocked it to 5Ghz on all cores at 1.3v and it is cooled by a Corsair H100x 240mm AIO! I am confident I can push the CPU further as I did have it at 5.1Ghz, but took it down for a lot less power consumption as I am only running an EVGA 450w Bronze unit. I used an MSI Z370-A Pro for the board, as when I originally built the PC it had an Intel Core i3 8100, so I went for one of the cheapest Z370 boards I could find. Surprisingly it holds up well for overclocking the 9600k so I saw no reason to upgrade the board (for now, may upgrade this year to higher end Z390). I've paired it with 16Gb (2x8Gb) of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400Mhz, which I have easily overclocked to 3000Mhz and 16Gb is plenty for my needs. Storage is taken care of by the MX300, a 525Gb SSD from Crucial. While it may have been succeeded by the MX500 it still holds up nicely. And finally the heavy lifter for my gaming machine, the GTX 1060! I managed to pick up the founders edition which may seem like an odd choice as many other cards were cheaper with better cooling, but I managed to grab it right in the heat of the crypto mining craze giving me a much better price surprisingly, as Nvidia did not raise the price on the FE model, i just had to be lucky to get one in stock! The design is beautiful and I've easily overclocked the card with a 225Mhz core offset and 300Mhz on the memory. Being an FE model it has an A class binned chip, so overclocking was a breeze. The 1060 powers both of my monitors, one being a basic 60hz monitor from Benq acting as my second monitor, with my glorious Samsung 144hz stealing the show. Despite the incredible refresh rate which is butter smooth, it also boasts Samsung's QLED technology, meaning a large colour gamete and stunning colour accuracy. The 1060 can comfortably do triple A titles at over 60fps, while other games such as Fortnite can easily take advantage of the 144hz panel! A final note in terms of Hardware is that I have purchased a TP Link Archer T9E PCIe WiFi adaptor as my internet speeds are breaking no records, generally 35Mbps on download max, and since WiFi is more convenient for me that supported the purchase. I also bought some upHere white PSU cable extensions to replace the ugly ketchup and mustard cables from the PSU.
As for my Keyboard i use a Redragon K552 RGB Keyboard, which is ten keyless and mechanical, which I managed to get for 40 quid. And Finally my mouse is a simple ergonomic HyperX Pulsefire FPS, which has lovely tactile Omron switches and 2 side buttons which are great for gaming. It also has some simple "Gamery" red lighting!
