Unnecessary custom loop
This build was first assembled Christmas 2019. All air-cooled with a NH-U12S chromax. But then covid hit and I had some money laying around (since I wasn't spending it on parties and what not). Instead of saving it and maybe investing in a new GPU, I water-cooled this thing in spring 2020. This is my first build, so I opted for soft tubing. Since the new GPUs (RTX 30xx and RX 6xxx) were not to be found here in Switzerland, I am not too unhappy that I didn't save the money.
Though to be honest, water-cooling a 3600X and a 2060 super is not necessary, it was fun anyways and having super low temps with no noise whatsoever made it worthwhile.
UPDATE: To everyone who thinks about buying the D5 pump with reservoir from alphacool: Do not over-tighten the tube! The acrylic tube will get small ruptures and water will leak out! Replacement is only 20$ or so, but still.😅
UPDATE 2: The clear masterkleer tubes became yellow over the last year, I swapped them out for alphacool’s epdm tubes. They are very easy to work with and look great in my opinion!
FUTURE OF THE BUILD: I just love the two 200mm fans in the front, so I will keep the case for sure (maybe switch the RGB fans with their ARGB counterparts). But what I want to do in the future is to upgrade the GPU and therefore the monitor to play games at 1440p. Many youtubers showed that at 1440p the 3600x is only lacking a small percentage behind the top dogs, so I might safe the $300 CPU upgrade and invest it in a 3080 instead of a 3070 (for example). Additionally I want to install a front radiator to cool the high-end GPU. There I will take inspiration from others on the platform with the same case.
