This is my first gaming PC build. It was completed in January of 2018 and at the time it was pretty much creme of the crop. Unfortunately one week after I purchased my 7700k intel announced 8th generation chips and I have yet to upgrade. I will say however I won the silicone lottery with my 7700K as I easily hit 5.0ghz on all cores with only 1.32v vcore. Not too shabby. Without delidding it averages a nice cool 60-65c in AIDA64, leaving me plenty of power and thermal headroom to take the OC further if I ever so choose, but as it is it still chews up everything I throw at it. Eventually I would like to upgrade to a 9th gen CPU, I will likely run the 1080ti until the next generation of Nvidia GPU's hit the market. At that time I plan to delve into custom open loop water cooling.
