ROG Optimus

Hi everyone! Fellow PC Enthusiast from Singapore! Firstly, I love computers but not photography. Thus, the quality of the photos, so apologies in advance! This is my first custom loop build that took me almost 3 months to plan and build, especially with the stock situation now. I know the bends aren't perfect, but I'll be replacing the tubings once they arrive. Failed way too many times at getting the perfect bends and depleted my PETG tubings so yea. So a brief backstory for the inspiration behind this build. Basically, back in March 2020, wanted to run 2 RTX 2080TI in SLI, and realized that cooling would be an issue without a custom build. Hurts me to decide to forgo the sexy ROG Heatsink on the 2080TIs, but the end result is definitely satisfying. If you can't tell by now, I am a huge ROG fan, and went with them for almost the entire build, except peripherals cause, to be honest, there are better options out there. Sadly ASUS no longer makes the best performing Motherboards right now, but it sure looks damn good, and I can't picture having a random Gigabyte / MSI / Asrock motherboard in my build to go with the rest of the system. My OCD cannot take it. Fast forward to 2021, I finally got my ROG RTX 3090 Strix and 5950x in February, and I did a major revamp on the build itself. It's only major because it's a custom loop. Any change is a huge project so yea. I know I know, RGB is just for bragging rights, but damn it looks sick, and I started to find ways to best optimize them on my system. So just a few tips for you guys out there, ensure that your RGB accessories are compatible with the rest of the system before getting them! For example, I've gotten Corsair's DDR4 Dominators at first, but the RGB will randomly reset itself and there have been issues syncing it with ASUS Aura, so eventually sold them and got the G.Skill ones instead. And it runs seamlessly with AURA. Also, RGB fans usually mean that you will have to forgo some performance. For me, I originally went with non-RGB Noctua PWM 2000 fans because quite honestly, they are the best in class fans money can buy (Yea they do have a 3000RPM Version but a rep from Noctua recommended against it due to the extra voltage each fan header will need to run to support them). However, after using the system for a few months, I find myself always looking at others' build, and getting all jealous about their RGB fan, and my RGB just does not feel complete. Did some research and found out that Phanteks actually makes RGB Fan Frames, and I immediately went into action. So yea I am glad that I have "RGB Fans" that has the best performance out there. Really glad that ASUS finally did a huge update on AURA (Integrating it with Armoury Crate and having a performance mode), so there are no more crashes on the RGB and no more restarts required! It was really shitty software before this. Just a shame that my Creative Katana is unable to sync its RGB with Aura or Synapse. So if anyone knows of a way, hit me up! Huge fan of Transformers, thus the figures and the name of the build. Kinda glad that SLI is dead, because getting 2 x 3090s would be nearly impossible right now, and would burn a huge hole in my pocket. Youtube definitely helped a lot, and the bends from the GPU block are actually inspired (or copied) from Bitwit's build, so that's that. Feel free to ask me anything about my build!
