Ultimate value for money. Originally built in early 2017 with an i5-6500 4c/4t 3.2GHz processor. However, it aged really badly for a $200 processor and recently it got so bad it was bottlenecking the crap out of my graphics card and was causing very rapidly changing and low framerates. Around 50-70 in most games no matter what the graphical settings. While it doesn't sound too bad, the inconsistency made the experience quite painful, so I upgraded to ryzen. My GPU now runs at 100% unless my framerate is limited to 75 which I do in a lot of games to take advantage of freesync. My framerates have also vastly improved and it now feels very smooth and consistent even when it's occasionally hitting the same number as before. I could have accomplished the same by buying a 7th gen i7-7700 or i7-6700 used for much less especially considering the new motherboard and RAM cost, but this way I have a more versatile platform that can be upgraded in the future. I'm probably not going to do so very soon though and when I do it'll be the graphics card first.
