Inspired by the over-the-top nuclear powered rail gun in Neal Stephenson's book Snow Crash.
Ultima Ratio Regum, "the last argument of kings".
I started this build almost 2 years ago, but its still going strong. My goal was for an industrial nuclear glow orange look.
Build Highlights:
Top handles for industrial module look.
Aluminium diamond plate to delete the front panel plugs and back panel trim.
Black allen head screws.
Painted highlights (radiator, reservoir, brackets, washers) to tie in with the nuclear orange theme.
Custom built bracket with a covered heavy duty toggle switch for power.
i7-7700k overclocked to 5GHz (stable with prime95 for 30 minutes). Required a de-lid and TIM replacement with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut and a Rockit Cool Copper IHS.
Custom sleeved and cable-laced power, usb, fan headers cables.
Custom hard tube water-cooling loop.
The hardest part: I made, sleeved and terminated all the power cables. All the cables were then hand cable-laced. This was tedious, but I'm very happy with the clean results, but if I had to do it again I'd probably just buy the sleeved cable-mods
