Hi guys, this one's been a long time coming but here is the new build I've been talking about for a year xD
So earlier last year I posted a build called "Project Breakthrough". I wanted to throw my hat in the ring of high end builders out there and 'break through' to a higher tier of PC building. I'd say it was a smashing success, so well in fact that I wanted to try it again, but this time with a little more oomph.
Enter Project UltraViolet, an improvement of the old design with some cleaner lines, some new hardware, and a little bit of extra sauce. I decided to do it right this time, and made a time-lapse video of it's creation (still being finalized) so I could show what time and effort goes in to making a PC of this magnitude.
I had an idea to use UV reactive fluid with a UV light array to give it the extra pop I felt I was missing in Breakthrough. The result came out stunning, with a sharp purple glow that emanates from every line. Though I had spent quite a bit on EK's 20th anniversary CPU block last go around, it ended up being not visible in the build at all. I decided to try out their EK-Quantum RGB block this time to draw a little more attention to the CPU. This alone made for a huge visual improvement. I also changed the routing of the tubes and used a couple angled fittings in strategic places to make things a little more resilient without sacrificing the aesthetic.
I am very proud of how it turned out. For me, the excitement of PC building is something I just can't find anywhere else. From meticulous planning, to finding the right pieces, virtually assembling the build in your mind and then creating your vision in the physical realm, every step of the way is a challenge. Overcoming that challenge and making something that will be a beautiful, functional centerpiece for years to come is a reward like no other.
I hope you enjoy Project UltraViolet, and I look forward to my next opportunity to build!
