Old Tech New Life
I have a friend who is between jobs and wanting to have a computer to play games on as well as apply for jobs. He's not able to afford much (shortages notwithstanding) and isn't comfortable with building computers.
Someone in my apartment complex was throwing away a mostly complete PC and I jumped at the opportunity. I only had to source a couple of the parts to get it up and running. One of those was the GPU. I picked up one second hand that has the 'wrong' cooler/shroud on it, but it's performing just as it should be.
It may not be the newest or the most glorious, but this is going to help get him through the slow times between jobs, as I am sure other pipefitters and tradesmen can understand. Plus, he's a console convert like me and I'm all about supporting that.
