Nr200 X Unraid
This was an unholy build combining two things that shouldn’t go together. Unraid NAS with a NR 200 from coolermaster. I love the NR200 but it lacks hard drive space with space for only 2x 3.5in drives stock, I changed that with the help of bequiet drive cages which fit perfectly in the case with minimal drilling and cutting. I now have room for 4x 3.5in hard drives with room for 1-2 more if needed. I think I am one of the few who tried this sense there are better itx server chases on the market but I had the case with custom cables on hand and needed a small form factor NAS with the chops to run VMs and multiple dockers plus be a backup, game, and media server. I was running an AMD 5700g before but the idle power draw was pretty bad at around 100w. So I got a 10600T with an msi b560 itx the power dropped to 40w and I didn’t notice any performance hit. This shouldn’t surprise anyone sense intel is best for NAS setups. I personally find unraid working better with intel. Although I haven’t tried any chips with E/P cores.
