I'm a PC enthusiast that just wanted to try modding and custom water cooling. I a mother of 2, yes female and it's really uncommon to see women get interested in this stuff. A handful might be gamers there's only a few who would want to get their hands dirty with modding. I had a custom water-cooled computer which was built for me by Madmods PC modding (https://www.facebook.com/madmodspc/) but wanted to try to build it on my own. This is my very first take on custom water cooling. A couple of months of planning, patience, sweat, and blood, yes blood. Haha. Had a lot of cuts in the process.
Thank you for all that helped me complete this. Felt great knowing that I finished my very first project. Dual loops with a lot of bends, passthrough, acrylic, and case modding.
It's not perfect and a lot could be improved but I'm so happy with how it came out. :)
Greatly inspired by https://builds.gg/mithiral67/greenhorn-dragon-210
Thank you for your help @mithiral!
I wanted to try a super tower since I've always used mid towers. Was looking at the Phanteks enthoo elite but price wise it's really expensive. Saw the v3000 and fell in love with the vertical fan/rad position in front and started hunting for the case. I live in the Philippines and parts, most especially cases aren't always available. I had to ship this from the US to the PH.
The build.
Case
I love the case! Roomy and the brushed aluminum finish is just amazing. Another plus on the case was that it's not heavy,
I initially wanted to do a light floor just like the Green Dragon build but after a couple of tries I failed on implementation, it's too meticulous of a job and I couldn't really execute it right, so I just moved on and left that idea but still wanted to go with a white floor.
Mobo, CPU, Ram, and Storage
•Mobo is an Asus formula X that I had a while ago, I couldn't justify upgrading to the XI when I like what the X looks like.
•I purchased a 9900k to replace my 8700k as an impulse buy. HAHA. 8700k could have worked and should be more than enough.
•Loved the shiny and really sophisticated look of the Trident Royals when it came out I felt the need to have it
•Storage are: 970 evo 250gb and 2 500gb 850 and 860 which are again from my last build.
The Works
•All of this is new to me, I don't know how to make bends so I had to buy a lot of PETG since I know for sure that I'll be failing a lot of times. As it is not everything is perfect but should be good enough.
•First time I've used power tools, a rotary tool, jigsaw, drills and the like. I was scared as hell, I feel like the blades with just fly and hit my face. Tried to look for protection aside from the usual goggles and I found a full face mask and since I used it I'm more confident doing what I need to do.
•The plan is to have horizontally aligned tubes but while I was building it the tubes slid down and it actually looked really good. Resulted in the slanted cpu/vram tubes.
•I was initially going for a vertically mounted FTW3 2080ti but after seeing it in actual I had a change of heart because it covered most of the bottom part and can't see how beautiful the motherboard is.
•Went with heat killers, loved what it looks like in combo plus it complimented the case very well.
•HWlabs radiators great reviews.
•Corsair LL fans - expensive!
I had NZXT aers and just really like the outer rig leds. Didn't like the others that are comparable so I just went and tried the Corsair LED fans. I am big fan of Corsair but this is the first time that I am using their case fans.
•Cables - I had the original cables of my psu sleeved by a local model in the PH. Thanks, PBsleeving! https://www.facebook.com/oerfydkn/
