Mating the EK FLT120 bracket with PCIE slot cover using a piece of 10mm x 10mm aluminum square profile.
Provides the clearance from the back panel to better position the FLT pump-res.
Jam Packed Meshlicious Sandwich
This is a commissioned build for a fellow watercooling + SFF enthusiast who reached out to me via Discord. Client wanted to have active backplate and internal pump-res so we went with EKWB 3080 XC3 and FLT 120 DDC. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? ;)
To be very clear, the parts will not fit if you stacked them properly. It took a combination of cutting the mobo panel to gain some millimeters to slide part of the thicc terminal thanks to active backplate into the gap left behind by the sheet metal. Also, the GPU isn't mounted using screws but a combination of friction forces due to sandwiching and 3M ultra strength mounting tape on the bottom support pegs.
Other than the physics defying shoving in of expensive parts into this tiny case and attempting to do multi bends on short runs with 16mm PMMA tubing, building this was a joy. And yes, I shouldn't use those thick 2mm 16AWG wires in SFF builds in the future.
