Before building this computer, I was using a seven year old HP laptop that would overheat and shutdown when playing simple Flash games. I saved my money for three years and during that time I spent countless hours watching product reviews, how-to's and swapping out parts for new ones on PCPartPicker. As this build never really had a name, I don't know what to call it. "White Blight" is just something I came up with to catch some eyes - possibly meaning that white and silver is outshining the black "blight" (I guess?). I chose the parts because of their aesthetic and popularity with the community. What's better than a computer performing excellent? In my opinion; a simplistic, clean design.
Currently, I have the i7-8700K overclocked to 4.8GHz and the GTX 1060 overclocked +200MHz on the Core Clock and +650MHz on the Memory Clock. The memory is overclocked to 3200MHz (but I don't know how long that'll last). I'm quite impressed with my overclock, but I'm sure there are better out there, haha.
A couple pieces that aren't available on this site that I have are the V1Tech SSD & GPU "Strix" backplates. Overpriced? Yes. Worth it? Also yes. I've also been looking for places to install my CableMod RGB/W magnetic LED strip, so it's not yet in the build, hence why it is not listed in here. I have Corsair's LL fans, Samsung's 970 Evo and Corsair's Dominator Plats 2x8GB on their way along with some blank PCI-e brackets from eBay that I am going to paint, so I will create a log of the PC as it isn't quite complete yet!
I'll also post some pictures of the building process (although there aren't too many) in future logs. You can also follow me on Instagram @george.g59 and I have some pictures of the computer there. My current phone's camera is terribly awful, so the pictures included here are around a month old and a bit better quality-wise. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy this piece of work!
