Integrated all the front I/O cables into one sleeve so the samurai warrior could sit cleanly on the desk :)
View from the rear (the green LED button is to turn on/off the case lighting)
Painted the GPU schroud
Integrated the front USB 3.0, audio input and output, on/off and reset buttons and power and drive activity light in the shield of the samurai.
Also integrated the DVD player with even a wooden front and button!
Of course the mouse had to be themed as well....
Ikigai
I made this build with a Japanese theme, started it about two years ago and took about a year from start (first idea/ sketch) to finish.
One of the main goals was to create a pc that was as clean looking and as quite as possible. That’s why it has no hard drives, but only SSD’s. Also, it had to blend in with the desk it was going to sit underneath.
To get the case itself to be as clean as possible, every possible connector or button was removed. This added the challenge of housing them externally. This was done by designing a Japanese figure, which is standing on top of the external DVD player.
The entire case was made by myself, took quite some work in 3D CAD to get the wiring inside the figure sorted out for instance. But it was totally worth the effort and i'm very pleased with the end result.
