GiMpStEr626's AORUS x Fractal Design
(Mostly) AORUS and Fractal Design component theme build. Currently still sourcing parts, so no assembly has yet taken place. Updates will occur as they happen. Expect the look to slowly change over time.
This was initially going to be a wholly overkill AORUS + Fractal themed build, but with recent events in the tech world, I'm happy just to carry the AORUS theme portion as far as the components go, but I'm not confident that I'd want their logo permanently on my case.
Color stacks are black, gray, and candy red, Possible matte reds also.
Some things of note: I normally don't have the money to go this overkill on a build, but since I haven't done a build in a long time, I figured I'm due to play catch up with tech and my skills. On average, a build like this would usually take me the better part of two years to save for, and that's something I've never been comfortable with.
[Status as of 9/15: Just waiting on RAM before assembly begins. It's just easier for me to have everything on hand at once, versus having to repeatedly open/close the chassis. M5 mouse dooked out on 9/12 with a device descriptor unrecognized error, with fault lying in either the MCU or cabling. I only got to use it for four days... alas used parts. That's gonna be in a holding pattern with the RAM until further notice. Oof.]
[Status Update 10/31: I bought another used M5 on Amazon, only this one died within an hour while setting RGB profiles on it. Needless to say, I'm just going to cut the mouse out of the build. No sense in showcasing Gigabyte's latest trend of breaking parts, right? I mean, we still have a mobo, AIO, and GPU to fry... /s RAM is still in waiting, though I'm set to just buy my DIMMs now, if I don't sell off the AORUS components first and forsake the build entirely. I am that tempted...]
[Status Update 11/20: We have RAM as of yesterday. Paint/vinyl on hold while my dad recuperates alongside the holiday budget. Will see about getting assembly out of the way for a "prolonged test fit," cause for science, right? Clearly not procrastinating. Fingers crossed I somehow get that free 32 GB kit soon. Perhaps a flight to Reno is in order...]
[Status Update 8/21/22: We've donated the Meshify C to the TUFractal build I sent to a childhood friend. As such, I've managed to grab the Meshify 2 Gray with Light Tinted TG. Blue is out; red is in... Gotta rep the Red Team when running their hardware! Working on some powder coating quotes for the meshes, PCI slot covers, and probably the PSU mounting bracket. Not too loud, not too quiet. Have had a rough week at the veterinarian, saving one kitten but losing another to separate illnesses, so while parts are screaming "BUILD ME!" we're still dragging our feet, in a good way. I promise, the end result will surprise everyone - including myself. Stay tuned. Will get to working on the new render mockups ASAP.]
