RAM temps now idle around 27C, max 38C

Recently discovered I had a spare radiator in my parts cabinet - an Alphacool 360mm x 45mm thick.



Had a set of fans die on me so I figure I might as well do my regular maintenance and also add the radiator. I thought I’d go with a push pull config since I have a set of high static pressure fans to push and moderate cfm for pull.

It did require moving the GPU back to horizontal and meant redoing the loop. I also replaced the Kryosheet and TG Putty Pro with PTM7950 and Upsiren Ultra putty. Also replaced the cpu paste with PTM.

CPU now idles at 43C and 88C at full load @5.7.

Version 7 of this build is now complete. I think this might be the last one for a while. No plans to get a 5090 or 9950X3D just yet since the 4090 and 9950X are plenty for what I need at the moment.

I'd originally wanted to do the tubing in half copper/half acrylic with a visible divider in the middle. But the clear tubing didn't contrast enough with the white case so I'd probably have to paint half the case a darker color if I want to try that in the future. The acrylic tubes at the top is a remnant of that original concept. But it looks kinda cool so I left it.

Additional upgrades:
Lapped the CPU. Ignore the scratches on the CPU, they were polished off so it was mirror smooth.
RAM upgraded to G Skill 96GB CL28
420mm Alphacool radiator added up top since the new Singularity distro plate accommodated more space.

Had to redo the loop since I needed to install a capture card. Since the GPU in that orientation was blocking the PCIE slots, I had to put it in the horizontal position.

That required redoing that part of the loop. But I was running low on satin tubing and still had a huge box of clear tubing, I figured might as well redo it all. Plus I had a 45-degree fitting I wanted to try out. It doesn’t match the rest of the loop aesthetic, geometrically, but it was a fun experiment.


Took over two weeks to build the first loop. This was done in just over 8 hours.
