The EKWB light-up fans cast magnificent purple light onto the rest of the computer.
Eyes In The Dark
The name behind this computer comes from an episode of Star Trek, In which a character has dreams about glowing circles in the sky. Seeing this, I thought the circles, or 'eyes', looked like LED computer fans. Originally I was going to build the computer in one of those cube cases, but I thought the Aerocool Quartz Revo looked better. Although the eyes in the show were green, I thought that purple looked prettier so that's the color I stuck with. I bought most of the parts used, except for the case and the EKWB water cooling loop, which I got for its style and reliability. The funny thing is, I bought all the parts before I measured them, and ended up with -2mm to spare between my reservoir and GPU. I'm just glad that EKWB put the measurements for their parts on their website, or else I would've been in trouble when I put the computer together. All in all, the build cost about $1300. If I win the prize I'll get an m.2 SSD and a fancy new Ryzen CPU.
