4/24/2020: Moved desk into another room, rearranged some stuff. Here's what it looks like today! Also, new camera!
Left: The build in question. Right: My server. :P
Because my camera struggles with lighting... here is me attempting the moodiest of moods to make this look better than it really is.
The Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Super-Tower case is an absolute monster. I am thrilled to have it!
All those screens... Makes it look like I know what I'm doing. (I don't)
Didn't I just do this? Oh wait, the screens are off. That makes sense.
The nasty unmodified color version of the first pic. Blackberry's can't take good photos. :(
All those SSDs and then you have this sorry excuse sitting in there. Mostly for show I guess.
Just in case I forgot what kind of motherboard I have, MSI conveniently printed their logo on there just for me!
So this thing is named the THICC II.... They're not wrong. It's "II T H I C C...." Get it?
Shut up. I know it's upside down. Rotate your monitor 180 degrees and leave me alone.
Too bad the case doesn't have any windows.
Again... useless features.
The grainyness of this pic reminds me of simpler times. Back when you had to go to CVS to wait in line while an angry clerk fussed with the computer to print your pictures and they turn out distorted like this.
What can I say, I am proud of these two. They do everything I tell them, and they excel at everything.
Thou mustn't judge.
Again, this saves me money on ink and paper big time.
This is what expensive poop looks like.
Anubis
Anubis
Anubis is my first build in a long time. I haven't made a build since 2013. With the help of a very good friend of mine, we were able to make this one happen! You can see the old build sitting on the floor in the photos here, may it rest in peace. This project was so much fun! I will definitely be adding on to it in the near future. Hoping to add water cooling, RGB LED lighting both in the case and surrounding the desk space. Please do not mind the CPU cooler being upside down. I could not force myself to love the way the wires ran otherwise...
The two servers are part of this build too. They are both IBM System X3500's, primarily used for file hosting and dedicated game servers. The one on the right is a recent acquisition, while the left unit is an older model mostly used for file sharing. The primary server runs 2 Intel Xeon E5-2699A v4's at 22 cores/44 threads each, 256GB of RAM. If only I could use this as my gaming rig... *sigh.*
The old IBM dot-matrix printer may very well be the most expensive thing in this entire build, but it is well worth it... for my sentimental value. ;)
The router is not really the greatest thing, I am still working on getting one that can actually perform up to my expectations. For those wondering, the model is a Linksys WRT3200ACM. It is a bit older, but still has some potency.
Feel free to give your thoughts, or if you have some cool ideas on how I can really liven up the area, let me know!
