EDIT: Changed my CPU to Intel® Xeon® E5-2680 v3. 12 core 24 threads with minimal performance loss in games (~4fps)
EDIT 2: Changed RAM to 128GB of Registered ECC Ram
TL;DR First time building a rig from scratch, really proud of my rig. Also part prices here are listed in

This build was inspired when I saw a used Intel Core i7-5930k and a Rampage V Extreme for sale, I jumped the gun for an 'upgrade'. Why did I say 'upgrade'? Well, in a way, I went back in CPU generation. I was using a i5-6500 at the time. I knew that this chip was overclockable, hence the majority of my old system could not be recycled for it. Its measly 212X wouldn't be able to handle the oc I would push it to. Neither would the NZXT S340 case be able to fit that E-ATX motherboard.
Parts reused:
So, I set out to upgrade my entire rig. 2 parts of the new builds were confirmed, the CPU and motherboard. Now, I need a case that fits an E-ATX motherboard. I considered the Fractal Design R6 TG, Lian Li O11 Dynamic(non-xl) and O11 Air. I was really leaning towards the O11 Air, until I found out that it was not in stock and I needed the case the next day(a blessing in disguise). So, at this point I was ready to turn to the O11 Dynamic. Until, I chanced upon the O11D XL. It was almost $100 more than the O11 Dynamic. I also had set a certain amount I wanted to spend on the build -> $800. Simultaneously, I was looking for PSU and boy, they're not cheap. Hence, I decided to try my luck on a used PSU. I saw a HX850 from Corsair going for $90. That's almost a third of the price for a brand new set. I decided that getting a used psu was cheaper and better than getting a brand new cheap ass psu.
I had planned to really budget out my parts option, considering a ID Cooling Auraflow X 360, but in the end, I went for a Corsair H150i Pro. Even though the H150i was double the price. I felt Corsair was more trustworthy. With these parts in mind, I set out to purchase all of them in a day. As the H150i Pro came with the ML120 fans, with the fact that the O11D XL does not come with any case fans at all. I continued the theme of having ML fans, and I bought another 7 fans(ML120 Pro) to fill up all the fan slots.
I must say that I really enjoy the new design of cases the O11 is headed in, utilising a dual chamber layout to relocate the psu and allow for air intake from the bottom of the case that feeds fresh air for my gpu. Also, the side and front panel tempered glass really adds to the look.
