This update is going to be where I put all my content about switching to the Lancool, so basically title. I chose this case rather than the mesh variant because I wanted something that looked different than all the mesh cases, which kind of resulted in me throwing airflow to the wind, (haha), but watercooling should negate that at least a little bit. Switching is also going to involve developing multiple distro plates, hopefully with an integrated pump, coloring every remaining part white (that I’m comfortable painting) ,and possibly a new coolant. The way I’m able to do this is by following along with bit-tech’s videos, who if you don’t know, is an extremely talented craftsman, with great build guides about everything he does. Go subscribe, you won’t regret it!

I’ve finished painting the inside of my new case white, taking it all apart was a lengthy process, but it will be worth it. I have a quick
clip of the finished product made, and I’ve recorded hours of content on painting/assembly of the frame.
Progress is halting until I can get the acrylic I need and find time to deconstruct Void to get the important pump dimensions, as well as time on the machine to actually cut it out

Acrylic is here! during the wait I made the stupid choice to sleeve some cables, so I’m now waiting on some paracord and white connectors.
Also during this wait, I was swamped by online school as my teachers try and figure out how much work to give us, and the month long soccer season, with 3 games a week! Somehow found time to etch the glass, and it turned out beautifully! It’s the little details in builds that bring everything together.
I forgot to mention in the last update that I was allowed to keep 4 old laptop spinners that were being thrown out from my summer job, so I’m going to assemble a raid or something to start using their storage too. I had access to a laser cutter during this job as well, so I cut some 2.5 covers for the hard drives out of white acrylic, as well as a (hopefully) more exact motherboard armor out of the same acrylic, AND I’m hoping to get up to 32gb of ram before this upgrade is done.

Jesus, it’s been a while, past two weekends I’ve finally had a chance to work with the cnc and cnc operator, had to do a complete redesign of both plates the first week, but got it done in a day with some hard work. void is sitting disassembled on my desk currently, but I’m really excited about the progress finally being made. The operator has everything he needs to know, so now it’s just a matter of time until I can post some footage and new pictures.
It’s likely this is the last update for this build, since with the amount of changes I made, it’s almost entirely a different system. I’ll keep this one linked, and might rename the pc to abyss, but I’m still deciding.
On a more positive note, I did a lot of this things I was talking about six months ago. I have some nice motherboard armor, I got 4 dims for 32gb total, I threw all the old hard drives into a raid, and I repainted/vynled all the parts that got scraped. Also, got the cables finished and made what I wanted with the laser cutter.
no new photos to add, saving everything for the next build
