A new build in a non standard case, meet project Wood Ridge.
SFF build based in a modded wooden review box AMD sent out for first gen Ryzen cpu's to various media outlets.
Project created and supported by awesome people over at Techtesters. They do Dutch reviews and English videos
Also a massive thank you EKWB and CableMod for the continuous support!
After the design it was time to get the sheet metal frame made. This was done out of 2mm steel to give it strenght and being able to tap threads. Once it arrived it needed some small clean up and counter sinking for all the mounting holes.
Handles, spacers and casefeet.
Small handmade parts to work together with the sheet metal parts,
Wooden box modifications.
Time for the scarry bit, marking the box, do double check with the sheetmetal and cutting.
Distro and EKWB goodies
Good start of the vacation when the custom distro arrived. Big thanks goes out to TheDutchManModifies for helping out getting it made. A week later these goodies from EKWB showed up
Paint prep and painting
One small tweak needed to sheetmetal for a perfect fit in the box. Sanding all parts to prep them for paint. After cleaning them painting with SteelIt and let them dry in the sun. Look at this finish :o
Sheet metal frame assembly
After painting it was time to assemble the sheet metal frame in the box.
GPU block and distro installation
GPU waterblock installation with custom spacers + distro installation in wooden box.
