I spent about three weeks on this build. There's nothing that's not been modded in some way.
The radiator is hidden by a wooden panel, which houses RGB strips to illuminate the interior.
Everything was done by hand, including the PSU cables. No 3D printer, no CNC machine (I do use a stencil cutter for the lettering and other designs).
The stats monitor uses Aida64 and a custom UI I designed.
I carried over the GPU's branding on the walnut panels. I think it makes the mod look more organic, like it was made this way.
I always cover the label on the rear of the fans when visible. I went through several designs, but settled on a modded version of Noctua's owl logo.
Obsessive cable management is a part of all my builds. Some wiring is hidden behind the wood panel, and it gave me a way to secure the CPU cables. With the custom cables and shortening all the wires there wasn't a lot of clutter to begin with; no RGB fans helped as well.
I make my own cables for all my builds using sleeving from MDPC-X.
Detail of the sensor panel UI. Spent several hours designing this one, but there are a lot of user-made UIs on the Aida64 forums available for download.
Whiskey lounge-themed build in the Corsair 2500X
The client said "sort of like your steampunk builds, but with whiskey/bourbon". I was given an open budget, but opted against a custom loop. He wanted something on the smaller side and low maintenance. I went with the Corsair 2500X, a great mATX case with walnut panels. To be sure performance matched its looks, we went with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a PNY RTX 5080, and 64GB of Dominator Titanium RAM.
Every inch of this build has been modded or customized in some way. Real walnut panels with recessed LED lighting, handmade PSU cables, even the Noctua fans were painted and have custom badging. The final touch was the flask from Buffalo Trace Distillery (which may or may not be filled with their finest Kentucky bourbon 😅).
As always, I'm grateful to my client for the opportunity to build something truly unique.
