An economic downturn of 2022 is shaping this cost-centric workstation. All parts are preowned with low mileage and they are still in great condition. A few parts are still under warranty but all came with original packaging.

Some components had to be custom fabricated as they were not designed to be install with modern parts. This issue added 3 weeks to the 2 weeks expected build time.

the longest process was sourcing parts. i dont want cheap. i need mad cheap and parts have to be better than a refurbished item. also, performance have to be justified when comparing to the newest released. in my particular application, newer GPU make little differences.

This workstation will handle several Boinc projects meaning, the system will be on crunching numbers @fullload for 95% of the time. The machine is also used for typical office task. Last maintenance shutdown was over 3 months ago. so far, no heat, shutdown, connection, etc issue since day 1.

for a grand…ish ($1090) im satisfied. the most expensive element in this project was the time and effort i put forth searching for the best deals and learning AutoCad
