View of the other side. First view of the exterior face of the pump/reservoir combo unit. Can easily see the water level through the clear panel. Had to make a large hole in the side of the case to allow the unit to come through. Glass panel now on as well, sticker gone.
Another beauty shot with a bit of reflection in the glass panel.
Motherboard EK monoblock installed. Tubing and pump/reservoir combo unit installed. Loop now filled.
Had to make a big hole in the front for cable routing. Got a rubber grommet for neatness but you can't really see that well it's so jammed full of cable.
Everything arrived and waiting to be unboxed. First build log picture of my first ever build.
Unboxed and ready for more unboxing.
M.2 SSD. It was physically way smaller than I was expecting.
RAM and low profile Noctua cooler installed.
Skip a few steps (first build so got carried away between photos), installing windows.
Completed build without any case modifications.
First step in modding the case: mounting the PSU flat to the case without a bracket...magnets (worked fine but wasn't the best solution).
Skip a few steps... Motherboard rotated by 90degrees to allow the GPU to be mounted vertically. The pcie riser cable runs around the back of the motherboard and mounts to case. Planned out how I was going to mount everything before buying anything, the idea being to mount everything as flat as possible and getting as many components on show as possible.
GPU bracket modded mounting. Drilled through the bracket and case to mount the GPU vertically. Three screws made for a very strong fix.
Everything mounted flat with the glass panel off.
Glass panel now on and as you can see the rods holding the glass in place are still stupidly long.
This really shows how silly the rods looks with all the components mounted flat to the case.
IO now accessible a via the top of the case.
Still got the plastic wrap on the glass.
Magnets holding the PSU in place. So far so good.
All up and running again with RGB looking fairly whacky.
Back to those rods responsible for holding the glass: They're off at a local machine shop getting shortened and tapped so the case won't look so ridiculous.
Rods came back. Ended up taking over 120mm off their length. Makes quite the difference.
Plastic peel now gone. Little sticker remains for some reason.
Shows how short the posts/rods now are.
Still plenty of breathing room for the GPU.
Skip several months and a few purchases. Fanless PSU and 280mm radiator. Entire liquid cooling loop to go in. To give the radiator more room to breath I had little stainless steel standoffs name to move the bracket away from the case. Did the same for the riser cable and the motherboard (just because).
GPU back in and it is solid as a rock on those stainless standoffs. Just see a hint of radiator and tubing behind.
UV light to show reactive coolant. Not overly exciting... still cool.
Leak testing with paper just in case.
Unfinished behind the scenes of the PC. Not much in the way of cable management... You can see the pump/reservoir combo unit ti the right and the radiator and low profile fans to the left.
Back up and running, checking temps for issues. All good.
Paper still there just incase.
Paper now gone, no leaks, all good. RGB set to something less goofy now. Quite happy with everything and how it worked out.
Nasty picture with the flash on and the glass off for a better look.
Front panel USB 3 sockets had to go because they are extremely bulky and got in the way of the radiator.
Side view showing the back panel is on and the radiator, fans, pump and reservoir are all contained within the black housing of the case. Very neat.
Radiator and exhaust comfortably though the existing perforations in the case.
Took a lot of filing to get the combo unit to fit snugly. Worth the effort though and I think it looks very clean. Definitely a unique solution and it fits like a charm. I wonder why thermaltake haven't designed some of these things into their cases. Would've made my job easier.
Dark front view with glass on. Using my phone as a camera and it is terrible. Picture quality has been dire throughout, thanks for putting up with it.
All set up. Very happy. And very quiet.
Top down, glass on. Dark.
