Before, I had a 7700k with maximus ix extreme mobo, same ram, same psu. I can complain about performance but i knew if i want to get a build to hold me for next 3-4 years.... I'll need to upgrade asap. So ... given the situation with covid and having quite a lot of free time available .... I thought of taking advantage and selling the motherboard with the processor in the idea of switching to the 9th generation even if the 10th generation knocks on the door. I made a quick budget .... the maximum I can spend and that's how the madness started. I sold the processor, the old case (lian li o11d), the cooling system from EKWB, including the fans, the video card (asus strix 1070ti a8g) and so on. From the old system I kept only the memories and the power supply. As I sold the parts mentioned above, I ordered from the order set by me. So, the first time the case with the fans and the distro-plate arrived .... a week later the processor also arrived but I couldn't decide on the motherboard. Too many options and quite undecided about this project (oc or stock) ... so in the end I decided and bought an Aorus Z390 Ultra(good for a little oc and stock) even if I wanted a Master but the budget did not fit with me having since I didn't have a video card yet(100$+ for Master). So I managed through some friends to buy the motherboard mentioned above and an Asus Strix 1080ti video card for a very very good price (new components). But I could not be satisfied with an air cooling for this GPU .... so I ordered water cooling for it from EKWB. To shorten the story .... everything took about 2 months to sell and buy the pieces and as you can see I'm not done yet. But Friday will be 95% complete (from my point of view) and next month I will order cables from CableMods so I can say it is completely finished. I hope I didn't bore you. : D BTW.... I didn't want any RGB but guess what... my son(6y old) didn't approve that.
