Little comparison between early cable management and final cable management.
Project Power of EK
Since a couple of years i'm Building my own custom computers for personal use and i have always been Building in the same case if we are just talking about watercooling computers. I've used multiple of different computers cases for air cooling, but not for watercooling. So this time i will be Building in a brand new case. Inside the Inwin Classic 303C EK Watercooled case.
After my latest build it was time to go with new hardware. So this time i'm using only EKWB Parts in my build (that's why the build is named Power of EK) After days of planning i'm starting with the build.
Hope you will enjoy my Building process. Next month thé computer gets 32 gigabytes of ram memory on top of thé already 32 gigs that are installed.
On the 21st of may i posted An new build update for my Project dragonball build, but a day after the post an new project was inside my head. It all began with the Inwin Classic 303c case, but now modded by EK.
So i bought it on de 22nd of may. I also bought a new PSU and Processor (AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 12 core processor). Along with the Corsair Pro lighting kit with 4 RGB LED strips, new PSU thé Corsair 1200HX and a new radiator with fans, going with the EK PE 360mm Radiator with 4 white Vardar fans.
To get more complicated bends i bought the Alphacool Eiskoffer. Also many more things we're bought that day.
25/27 may - Starting new project.
After everything was delivered i started with the build. First i started planning my loop order. I started with asking around on facebook and Builds.gg, to get some more information and to get more ideas.
14-05 - Ordering custom made GPU Backplates..
Just ordered two custom made GPU Backplates. For my PROJECT Power of EK build. For now i have to wait 14 days for thé badboys.
30-05 - Started cable managing and placing radiators with all the fittings
After planning the build and asking around i started with making it all reality. The cablemanagement got done this time much earlier than with my older builds. Just to make it all look better than before.
I also started with my adventure using the Alphacool Eiskoffer bending kit.
I tried to make the bend from the radiator to the distro plate with only fittings straight on the distro plate and the radiator, but even with the Alphacool Eiskoffer kit my bends we're to sharp and i had to go with adapter and extension fittings to make it work. This was a sad moment in my build, because it would have been so Nice to look at.
01-06 - Completing the watercooling loop & planning out fan upgrades
Between the 31 of may and the first of June i was busy making my hard tubing bends. When i was making the bends for thé top radiator first i used no adapter fittings but that was to sharp and thé tubing got to bended. So now i used adapter fittings, but i'm not sure if i like it this way or would use extension fittings and a 90° angled fitting for the radiator.
Today i'm ordering 3 more 120mm white Vardar fans for in the bottom.
04-06 - Starting leak testing with distilled water
Just started my leak test today. Everything looked normal and there were no problems at first side, but at the moment i almost turned on my psu with my Jumper cable my eyes noticed that my Paper towels were wet.
I looked down and saw that my top GPU card was leaking. So in a hurry i drained the loop and turned it side ways so the liquid would return into the distro plate and then the GPU could be removed very carefully.
Turned out that it was leaking in one corner so my PCB was not hit by liquid to my surprise. So i took off the GPU block again and reassembled it and after testing again with distilled water no leaks were present.
Tonight my new EK Cryofuel Solid Cloud White liquid Will go in the loop.
05-06 - Finished leak testing & waiting on custom cables
05-06 - Testing RGB Led strips with commander pro
Just started testing my RGB LED strips from Corsair with the commander pro.
Still thinking about which color i would use for the build with the white coolant.
- Rainbow colors - Solid White colors.
Next time will be the last update to finish up the build.
04-08 - Custom made SSD block
Today my custom made SSD block arrived. Thanks to ColdZero.
