So I decided to make an AMD render machine. Thought about getting a new case but I think this QBX is fine. For now.
New stuff:
- Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
- Red Dragon RX6800 XT
- Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 Low profile CPU fan
(replaced the AIO. Now includes 1 intake fan and 2 exhaust fan.)
- 8TB WD Black (could be larger but that will induce media hoarding)
had to mod the case and mobo slightly (not a great job but works) to fit the Red Dragon.
Benchmarks:
Port Royal - 9293
Speed Way - 3547
Geekbench - Single core: 2101 / Multi core: 9989 / GPU: 143451
Cinebench R23 - Single core: 1475/ Multi core: 13417
I am eyeing Phantek Evolve Shift 2. If I do switch to that case. I will make it as another build.
Looks too clean right now.
Will keep the QBX case to make something close to a JDM/Bososoku car style thing. With that 140mm AIO outside.
All previous parts went to family members.
Back of the Case. PSU on the left.
Removed the AIO and replaced with 120mm fan.
New Mobo, New CPU, New fan.
Waited for a while and finally found a good price for a 6800xt. Was going to get the XFX.
the Red Dragon is in!...however
The case had to be slightly bent. Inner flap had to be cut.
and the Mobo cover had to be cut off. It was blocking the GPU back plate.
Finalized and running smooth.
Cover goes on. Looks too clean.
